Basic Behavioural Training
Description/Learning Outcomes:
RSA is excited to bring this workshop to you in a virtual format! This workshop offers Direct Support Professionals an introductory understanding of the principles and procedures of basic behavioral techniques aimed at supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. It will cover the functional assessment process as well as the relationship between the three components that influence behavior: biological factors, the current environment, and past events.
You will also receive an overview of how the results of the functional assessment process are applied to influence the behavior of the individuals you support. This workshop will focus on the significance of identifying and fostering positive behaviors and skill-building strategies to enhance individual quality of life. We will explore how these positive behaviors, skill development techniques, and necessary behavioral changes are incorporated into a Positive Behavior Support Plan.
Information from this introductory workshop will provide a useful foundation whether you are participating in the Community Capacity Development Initiative or considering attending RSA’s 10-Week Behavioral Techniques for Developmental Enhancement Workshop Series in the spring of 2025.
